Bertha Amelia Meckstroth papers, 1903-1958.

Letters (1903-1912) from Radcliff College classmate Margherita Sargent (called Blossom) comment on social life, participation in theatrical productions, employment at Brooks House in Boston, Sargent's friendship with Isadora Duncan, and her professional stage career. Five loose-leaf volumes contain Meckstroth's autobiography entitled "What Became of Me?" The work recalls her education at Radcliffe College, her friendship with Radcliffe classmates including Margherita Sargent and Helen Keller, her nursing training in Seattle, and her study at the Chicago Art Institute. A notebook contains manuscript writings, and an autograph book (1933-1957) contains names of people who viewed Meckstroth's quilting exhibit. The collection includes designs and items related to the exhibition of quilts at the Chicago Century of Progress International Exposition; copies of articles for publication; and a card from the Christian Science Monitor announcing the return of a manuscript. Printed items include a Radcliffe College alumnae directory (1940) and a Christian Science Quarterly (1958).
